We know that “going to church” is much more than sitting in a pew for an hour on Sundays. At First Covenant, one of our many ministries is that to adults—whether you’re new to the faith and trying to understand who Jesus is and what Christianity is all about, or a long-term Christian yearning to grow even further in your faith, we’re here to help you on your journey. We seek to know God better, love Him more and share that love with others, and our Adult Ministry activities are an integral part of what “church” at First Covenant is all about.
Life Groups are central to our community at First Covenant. They are small groups which meet together regularly for Bible study, prayer and fellowship with each other. Life Groups bring people together in support, in love, in encouragement as we strive to learn more about God and His plan for our lives, as we delve into Scripture to hear and understand God’s message to us, and as we share our joys and sorrows with each other and also work together to serve our community.
Groups may vary according to age, neighborhood, and interest. To find out more, see the separate flyer on the current Life Groups being offered.
Adult Ministry encompasses special events specifically for the men and women of our church and can vary from year to year and season to season, and can overlap with some of the other ministries in our church. Events include our annual Ladies Spring Luncheon, a Men’s Retreat at Cascades Camp and Conference Center with other men from the Pacific Northwest region, and men-only or women-only Care Groups or Bible studies. Informal “Ladies Lunches” after church or dinners out on the town are also favorites among our women.
