Chaired by Allison Bach
The Children and Youth Ministry at First Covenant Church is a planned program leading to spiritual growth and development of a personal relationship with Jesus. This ministry provides opportunities and classes for children and youth of all ages through the cooperation of the home and congregation. Key objectives are: present the Bible as a foundation of both knowledge and experience, participation in worship together, experience service to the community, share our gifts with others and care for each other.
As a church of many generations we have the opportunity to share our faith and life with each other, especially children:
- Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These commandments that I give to you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
- Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

If you have questions about the children’s ministry or would like to get involved, please contact Sarah.
Sparklers, The Power Station, and The Lighthouse begin in service with their parents. They will be invited to class partway through service. They return to service for communion or the response song.
Nursery 0-2 years
Nursery care is provided during the entire service for children ages 0-2 years.
Sparklers 3-4 years Preschool
For the youngest children, we want to spark a love for Jesus through play, story, and care we provide. For this age we want children to know they are loved and cared for as well as knowing God loves them, God made them, and the Bible is a special book sharing God's Word.
The Power Station K-2nd grade
For the early elementary kids, we want to take the spark growing and help equip them in their faith through engaging in God's Word, building community, and learning to use the "tools" to build a strong faith in Jesus. At the Power Station, children will study a part of the Big God Story each week through activities, art, drama, and a chance to respond to God's Word.
The Lighthouse 3rd-5th grade
At the Lighthouse, we want to take the spark and ways the kids have been equipped to help them learn to shine the light of Christ. While still helping build a strong faith in Jesus, we want to help kids be a light in the world. At The Lighthouse, kids will study a part of the Big God Story through activities, art, drama, and a chance to respond to God's Word.
All Family Worship
Once a month the whole church family will worship together. Sparklers, The Power Station and The Lighthouse will not be offered on those Sundays. Nursery will still be available. We value the opportunity for all people and all ages to worship and learn together.
"Intergenerational worship is a biblically-based practice of gathering the whole church body together to worship God.....Worshiping together not only gives children models of worshipful behavior in adults, but also infuses worship with the gifts the children bring, such as: spontaneity, thanksgiving, enthusiasm, simplicity, and hope."
Kids Day Camp
Each year we have a week where the kids come together for a fun-filled time.
Our Wednesday night group for Junior High / Middle School. We have a dedicated staff that minister to students through relationships, worship, small groups and fun.
