Kids Day Camp Update
June 6, 2017
We are sad to announce that we will not be having Kids Day Camp 2017. This winter and spring has shown that things planned don't always go the way we think they will. The snow days this winter caused a need to push our original week back, but with that many volunteers were unavailable with vacations and other events already scheduled. We didn't want to go without it because it is a highlight for so many. So with the best of intentions and excitement, we worked out Super Spark Week. When we decided on the change, we thought we were closer to figuring out the new staff position and that would be set earlier. There have been other things that have also made it difficult to plan and do. This year overall has been a different year. But as our team said to each other when we were talking about this, "We really gave it the old college try!" We want to provide a great experience for the kids, and with the limited resources we were facing, didn't feel we could do that.
So it is with great sadness that we have come to this decision. But this is not a permanent letting go of Kids Day Camp. The excitement for next year will only increase! I would ask you all to consider stepping into our summer spark workshops on Sunday mornings instead or helping with our Sparklers (nursery). I hope you would be willing to help with 2-3 Sundays this summer.
Thank you again for your commitment to our children and the children in our community! I am so thankful for all of you!
